Money may not matter to your ‘higher Self’

Time for important decisions ~ love or money?

Love or money?

Love or money?

Buffalo, NY     —     Money is on the minds of everyone struggling to make ends meet these days during the recession. Today’s papers reflect the dire economic circumstances of our times. The front page of USA Today includes an article about how hundreds of stocks could be delisted from NYSE and Nasdaq. The Los Angeles Times features a story about President Obama enlisting doctors in the controversial healthcare debate. “Assessing the Financial Crisis” is front page news of the New York Times in which experts discuss, “where to go from here”.

That is a very important question to consider ~ where do we go from here? If we allow our ego to lead us, we may continue on the same path we are on now ~ if we do not make different choices, history is doomed to repeat itself.

Wholeness can only be achieved if one is willing to surrender to the needs of developing our ‘inner’ or ‘higher’ Self. If you travel this path long enough and deep enough, you may come to learn that your ‘higher Self’ does not care about money at all. In fact, the more we are unconscious about money, the more we may be required to surrender any and all attachment to it in order to draw nearer to the divine.

I can hear the doubters proclaim the challenge utterly impossible. How do we pay the bills, what if I lose my job, we can’t afford to lose the house! The response to these equally important questions might be met with haunting replies we may no longer be able to ignore ~ in the gospel according to Mark 8:36 we are asked, what shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world and lose his own soul? These tough economic times raise even more questions ~ what shall it profit a man if he choses money over soul? Finally, and most important of all, what shall it profit a man if he never knows real love?

Senator Ted Kennedy dies after final battle with cancer

America loses one of the strongest supporters of healthcare reform

Senator Ted Kennedy passes

Ted Kennedy passes

Hyannisport, MA     —     Senator Ted Kennedy reportedly died with family and friends by his side shortly before midnight tonight at his home in Hyannisport, Massachusetts. He died of a brain tumor at the age of 77.

Senator Kennedy spoke often about his desire to see healthcare reform pass in the senate before he passed, unfortunately that was not to be. However, he saw his candidate for President, Illinois Senator Barack Obama, become the 44th president of the United States last November.

How will the so-called “lion of the senate” be remembered? Will Senator Kennedy’s legacy be his tireless commitment for healthcare reform, or the controversial scandal involving the tragic drowning death of Mary Jo Kopechne at Chappaquiddick 40 years ago? That answer remains to be seen.

Edgar Cayce predicts economic downturn for next American president

‘Sleeping prophet’ predicts American mortgage crisis ahead

Illinois Senator Barack Obama

Denver, CO.     —     It is 6pm MST on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 and I have called the American presidential race to Illinois Senator Barack Obama. However, it was one of the most renown prophet’s of the 20th century that made a more important prediction for the future ~ tough economic times ahead.

64 years after Edgar Cayce’s death, skeptics have taken notice after the recent stock market crash. The so-called ’sleeping prophet’ predicted that cyclical economic conditions would bring about another stock market crash. The vision proved most convincing following the Sept. 22, 2008 Dow Jones Industrial Average drop of 777.68, surpassing the 684.81 loss on Sept. 17, 2001 ~ the first trading day after the September 11 attacks.

Cayce predicted a mortgage crisis in one of his readings (#3976) that would apply to economic conditions today, according to the Edgar Cayce’s Association for Research and Enlightenment. If this prediction proved to be correct, millions of Americans could lose their homes.

Cayce’s material has captivated the public long after his death in 1944. Whether the future unfolds as he predicted in the past, still remains to be seen.

Fear prevents us from embracing the power of intuition. What if we are able to see into the future? Would we like what we see, or be horrified by impending doom? These are important questions to ask on the journey of uncovering our own individual intuitive powers.

A poem by spiritual teacher and author Marianne Williamson illustrates this beautifully:

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission.
As we are Liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
